Passengers arriving at the Domestic terminal on a connecting flight from overseas and who have not been processed by customs/Immigration in Bangkok will be transferred to the International terminal on arrival.
Currencies can be easily exchanged in the terminal building where you get a very reasonable rate compared to most western countries but our tip of the day is the money exchange/ bureau de change just outside of the airport complex where some of the best exchange rates can be obtained. It should be noted that this shop is not open 24 hours a day thus needs to be checked.
Another good tip is that local SIM cards are available at the airport and in local 7/11’s these can be a very good buy saving money on phone calls whilst here.
